Based in Michigan City, Indiana, Laurel Izard is an award-winning fiber artist with numerous exhibition credits to her name. With a background in art education and ceramics, Laurel began concentrating on textiles and embroidery in 2011, and has since created art that range from intensely detailed embroideries to art quilts featuring animals, particularly endangered species.
Laurel has a BA with majors in art and anthropology from Northern Illinois University and a MFA in ceramics from the University of Madison-Wisconsin. She and her husband Edwin share a home with two cats, where she creates some kind of art every day.
